XC Booster Donations

Hello Athletes and Families!

This season is going so awesome and we are so excited with all of the performances so far! See below for new updates and opportunities for what is to come!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
If you are able and willing to volunteer for Roosevelts hosted meet on October 6th, please shoot us an email as soon as possible! We will need people to be course monitors and help at the finish line! Let us know and we will work with you to assign your placement!

Fundraiser Opportunity:
Magnuson Brewery and Cafe Fundraiser after the meet 10/6 & 10/21
10% of all proceeds those days will go back to the Cross Country Program!
We are also doing a raffle, $5 for a ticket and some bundle options to purchase more! The money from this raffle will also go back to the program and the winner after both days of drawing could win items from some of the following: Stretch 22, Super Jock and Jill, Oiselle, Runners High Coffee Company, SOS Hydration and MORE!

Whether you can pop by for lunch or join us for a drink and some burgers after the meets, we would love to see you to support our team and our program!

Update on Nike Hole in the Wall:
Context: we have been informed by the Athletic Director that we should not count on our buses next weekend for Hole in the Wall (district-wide bus delays and shortages).

We don’t want to risk everyone showing up to school and being left without transportation, so we’ve decided that Hole in the Wall is no longer a required invitational. We would still love to see the entire team, but will understand anyone who can’t make it.

We are going to meet at the school with the potential of the bus showing up, but would like parents to stick around in preparation to drive the kids to the meet. Worst case scenario, we don't have a bus and parents willing will carpool the kids to the meet.

Update on Metro League Meets:
We also have the option of joining one more metro league meet on Wednesday, October 13 at Magnuson Park. Originally, we scheduled this week (the week before Metro Championships) as a second BYE week, but we’ve been informed some athletes are interested in an additional league meet.

We’ll need to inform the meet host ASAP about whether we’re joining, but we will be polling the athletes and seeing if they have interest going forward!

COVID Protocol
Going forward, if you have been in close contact with another student, family member or friend who have tested positive for COVID we ask you to stay home and send us an email to let us know after. We also ask that you let Casey and the school know, as the athletic program handles this in a very specific manner when it comes to coming back to practice. Lastly, we ask that if you have had an exposure, that you please get a negative COVID test before returning to practice. Thank you so much for understanding and working with us to keep all of our teammates and athletes safe.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns on any of the above information, never hesitate to reach out to our head coaching staff:
Coach Sara (she/her, sjflemming@seattleschools.org), Coach Morgan (she/her, mmmanuel@seattleschools.org)
