Faculty Announcements 
We are thrilled to welcome back former Nina Ricci, MD (Palliative Care 2014) as a faculty and leader in our division. Dr. Ricci joins as Associate Director of Palliative Care at Tisch Hospital. Learn more about Dr.Ricci here.
The Tisch Palliative Care team hosted a farewell dinner for Arpit Arora, MD, who departs the division this month for Los Angeles. Dr. Arora joined the division as a 2017-2018 Palliative Care fellow and rose to the position of Clinical Instructor and Section Chief of Palliative Care, Tisch Hospital. We wish him all the best and look forward to continuing to collaborate in the future.
GerKit App Available on Android 

The GeriKit App, a geriatrics assessment tool co-created by Nina Blachman, MD, MHPE, John Dodson, MD, and Ambika Viswanathan (medical student at UNC and 2020 MSTAR student), is now available on Android! You can download it here. The app was made available for download on Apple devices in December of 2020 (available for download here). Learn more about the app here.
 Presentations and Papers

Sakina Tall, MD and Arjun Masukar, MD, PhD, presented on Dementia in the Oldest Old as part of the American Federation for Medical Research (AFMR) Virtual Education Series on September 23rd. Dr. Tall reviewed the diagnostic approach of cognitive impairment in older adults while Dr. Masukar discussed what is currently known about limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy (LATE) and primary age-related tauopathy (PART), newly formalized neuropathological changes in the aging brain which can mimic Alzheimer's disease.
Joseph Lowy, MD, presented and participated in a panel discussion on "Delivering Bad (Serious) News." Sessions were recorded and to be broadcast on Oct 27th at the National American College of Surgeons meeting.
Joshua Chodosh MD, MSHS presented on Falls Prevention at a Webinar co-sponsored by Engagement in Longevity and Medicine (ELM; supported by NIH/NIA grant 5R34AG063725-03) study partners at NYU Langone Health, NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA), Aging in New York Fund (ANYF), and CaringKind.
Audrey Tan, DO, Jordan Swartz, MD, Christine Wilkins, PhD, LCSW, and Corita Grudzen, MD published a paper, “Leveraging Emergency Department Information Systems to Address Palliative Care Needs of ED Patients During the COVID Pandemic,” in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. The Metropolitan Area Geriatrics Society (MAGS) will host an Aducanumab Experts Panel, “What Happened Since the Accelerated Approval by FDA for the Treatment of Alzheimer’s?” on Wednesday, October 6th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. MAGS President Sakina Tall, MD, and Vice President Jesus Lehi Garcia, MD, will announce the panel, which will be led by experts Joshua Chodosh, MD, MSHS, Jessica Zwerling, MD, MS (Montefiore), and Samuel Gandy, MD, Ph.D. (Mt.
