HUD Updates

Data Standards Updates Postponed

The HMIS Team has been working diligently with our software vendor to implement the code migration. However, during the testing phase, we experienced several issues which resulted in work stoppages. As a result we are postponing the code migration until all issues are resolved. We will continue to work closely with our software vendor to resolve the issues and will inform all users when the code migration is rescheduled.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the training sessions. If you or anyone from your agency were unable to attend the training, please review the recording below. Please reach out to the HMIS Team by submitting a ticket if you have any questions or encounter any issues.

Local Updates

H4H Courtyard Project Type Updates

The H4H Courtyard is now labeled as Emergency Shelter in HMIS

As of October 1st, the H4H Courtyard project type has been updated to emergency shelter. Going forward, if you are enrolling a client who was previously enrolled in the Courtyard the appropriate prior living situation would be considered emergency shelter. Similarly, if the client is exited to the Courtyard the exit destination would be emergency shelter.

Local Policy Updates Are Live

The updates to the Data Quality Plan and Policies and Procedures are now live as of October 1st. The updated documents will be available on the HMIS Resources website.

Additional information in regards to this update can be found in the Data Standards Updates video training located above. Please submit a ticket to the HMIS team if you have any issues or concerns.

* Important Reminders *

Housing Move-in Dates

As a reminder, all Permanent Housing (PH) projects are required to record a housing move-in date. This includes Permanent Housing (PH), Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), and Rapid Rehousing (RRH). Per HUD this is the date the client moved into permanent housing, essentially this is the date the client began physically living in the permanent housing unit. If a client is enrolled in a PH project without a housing move-in date, the client is considered literally homeless in all local and federal reports. It is crucial that the housing-move-in date be recorded for all clients in housing to ensure the accurate length of time homeless is recorded.
