Radical Spending Bill Is A Direct Attack on Our Deepest Values
Dear Friends,
Congress has been locked in a fierce battle over the future of two spending bills which, if passed as they are, would fulfill a laundry list of some of the Biden administration’s biggest and most radical progressive policy goals.
Not only will the Democrats’ social spending bill cost the American taxpayer a crippling $3.5 trillion, it is a direct attack on everything we stand for: faith, family, and freedom.
First of all, the spending bill would omit the Hyde Amendment, meaning that your tax dollars would go directly towards funding abortion. Just consider that — the money that you or your spouse pour your energy into earning would go towards funding the intentional destruction of life in the womb, an act which is not only opposed by millions of your fellow American taxpayers, but is one of the most immoral acts imaginable.
Lord, have mercy on our nation.
Second, the spending bill also includes a hefty tax penalty for married couples. That’s right — despite clear evidence that the traditional family unit is one of the strongest safeguards against poverty, the Democrats want to penalize couples who are raising their children together.
A group of top GOP Senate lawmakers wrote in a letter Friday to Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer, "We believe that marriage is a vital social good. It is misguided and unfair for the government to build bigger barriers for couples to marry.”
It is immoral and unthinkable to pass any legislation that would in any way discourage marriage at a time when our children so desperately need strong families to support them.
Third, the bill would drastically expand state-funded education programs for even the youngest of children, promising a universal pre-k and daycare.
Is this really what our parents and children need? More government-run schools, starting as young as infancy?
We have seen over the last year just how radical public schools have gotten; from pornographic sex ed to divisive, anti-intellectual, and radical teachings on race, gender, and sexual identity.
Parents are increasingly interested in taking charge of the education their child is receiving as the school choice movement gains considerable traction and the rates of homeschooling families has doubled over the past year — yet instead of provide funds to support alternative education that parents want for their children, the Left wants to dramatically expand our government schools.
Folks, this spending bill is a direct attack on the American people and our most deeply held values as a nation.
Now more than ever, we have to stand together and hold the line.
On Friday, President Joe Biden signed a bill to temporarily fund the government to give lawmakers more time to negotiate this bill so that means it’s time for you to speak up.
