Lions Push Pumpkins
Pumpkins are popping up as the circular stars of October in Thorold. You can pick up a plump pumpkin from the Lions Club on Saturdays in October, 9 am to 2 pm, Pine Street lot ( corner of Sullivan) for only $5 each. Take home a pumpkin to make Thanksgiving desserts, or carve one up for a Halloween jack-o’-lantern. Use the pumpkin seeds to create a healthy snack. It's all good when we support our local Lions Club and have fun with pumpkins or drop by and offer a donation. Pictured at their pumpkin patch, Thorold Lions Club members Patricia and John Wilson. The Thorold Lions Club serves Thorold in a variety of ways including diabetes, vision, hunger, the environment, and pediatric cancer.

Giving Back Weekend for Cancer Center & Food Bank
A new charity event in support of the Walker Family Cancer Center as well as the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Bank is being promoted as the Giving Back Weekend. Presented by the Knights of Columbus in Thorold, the event includes a bottle drive, used battery collection and food bank campaign. The event will be held on on Friday, October 15th, 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday, October 16th, 10 am to 4 pm. Donations can be brought to the foyer in front of Holy Rosary Hall, 35 Queen Street South, Thorold. K of C volunteers will be on site to assist at the convenient drive-up and drop off location.

Thorold Meme:Tensions Rising Over Rowdy Juneberry Parties
Tensions have been rising between rowdy late night party-goers and residents in the area surrounding Juneberry Road and Winterberry Boulevard in Thorold West. Residents have complained to Thorold City Hall about the disturbances stemming from loud late-night parties. Occasionally the bashes sprawl into the streets into the early morning hours in the party area known as the Juneberry Junkyard. What should be done about this problem?
