Change in Quarantining Protocol
Click here to read the DCSD COVID Plan update letter that was emailed out to all DCSD parents and guardians on Wednesday, September 29th.
The major changes involve the quarantining process in the event of a positive student or staff case in our building. In the event of a positive case, we will notify the parents/guardians of all students who were in close contact with the individual who tested positive. The parent will then have the choice whether or not his/her student will quarantine for 10 days or allow the student to stay in school while closely monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19. Should a close contact show any symptoms of COVID-19 he or she will be required to quarantine for 10 days.
The letter also contains information about if there are multiple positive cases within a specific group of students. If you have any questions in regards to this letter please contact the school.
Symptomatic Students
In order to limit the potential implementation of other preventative measures including school-wide symptom/temperature checks, mask mandates, etc. please remember your student is REQUIRED to stay home if he/she is showing any symptoms of COVID-19.
Your student must be symptom free for a minimum of 24 hours before he or she can return to school and in some cases this requirement may be longer than 24 hours. If you have any questions please contact the office.
COVID-19 Vaccination Information
The Delta County School District strongly encourages all students and staff members to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines have been highly successful at reducing transmission, infections, and deaths. Fully vaccinated staff and students will not have to miss school to quarantine even in the case that they are in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19. The vaccine is currently available for free to all individuals 12 and older.
Visit the Delta County website for more information about the COVID-19 vaccine:

Student Leadership Opportunities
Our Counseling Department helps organize and lead the following student leadership programs.
Student Ambassadors
Our Student Ambassador program is a student leadership program geared to improving culture and connections on our campus. Students selected for this program are trained to provide a variety of service responsibilities including providing tours of our campus for new students. Students in this program are also encouraged to participate in various community service activities on behalf of our school.
Sources of Strength
This is a nationwide program whose mission is, "To prevent suicide by increasing help seeking behaviors and promoting connections between peers and caring adults." We are excited to be hosting our first student and adult training of the year this week. The students and staff members involved in this program will create and implement several initiatives and campaigns throughout the school year geared towards increasing the level of connections surrounding the SOS wheel below.
