Happy October !
Next weekend ends the 2021 season for all summer seasonal campers, we can easily say it was a different season than what we are used to.... BUT.... we are looking forward to next season as we have some exciting changes coming; the first change being that we are opening next season 3 weeks early - that's right mark your calendars for May 1st - Hillside is open and full service seasonal camping begins! . We are hoping to see the 2022 season with alot more activities that we all love. The management at Hillside would like to again thank all our campers for their co-operation and loyalty, we know that this season was again very different than normal. We look forward with you to seeing what next season will bring and encourage you to watch our social media for sneak peaks as to what is coming!

A few notes from the office (and answers to commonly asked questions this time of year)

EXTENDED STAY: If you need to stay for one extra week past Thanksgiving you'll need to notify the office. This ensures you have septic service and that your card won't get cut off for misuse. There are no weekly stays after October 18th.

GOLF CART STORAGE: If you were one of the lucky campers that secured a spot in our storage, please stop by the office and pick up your golf cart sticker after Wednesday October 6th. All carts for summer seasonals need to be dropped of between Friday October 8th and Sunday October 10th. Please leave keys in carts. Any 8/10 month seasonals that have storage, please contact us for a later date. Billing for storage will be billed on the statement coming out later this week.

LEAF RAKING: begins early November, it is very weather dependent. If you'd like to rake your leaves into a pile and leave for us to pick up please do not do so before then.

CONTACT: At the end of the season our office hours are changing. We will be available to help you in person on Mondays from 9am - 12 noon (excluding holidays). If you need to see us during other times, we are here but busily wrapping up 2021 and excitedly preparing for 2022. Please call/email ahead to book an appointment. We DO return all emails, so if you don't hear from us, with 72 business hours, maybe we didn't get your email! Watch our social media (Facebook and Instagram) for changes to hours and other messages. After Thanksgiving weekend, our office is closed on weekends until May 1st.

BILLING: We will continue to email bills to customers during the off season. We do however only email statements once the balance on your bill reaches $50.00. Payments can be made in person during designated hours via debit, cash or cheque. After October 31st, our debit system goes into hibernation for the winter and then accepted forms of payment are cash, or cheque. You can e-transfer anytime. If you find our office closed you can drop cheques through the office door slot, but please DO NOT put cash through the door. Cash payments can only be made IN PERSON!

HYDRO: remains on to the entire park over the winter. Remember to turn your hydro off at the pole to not incur any incidental charges over the off season. There is a flat meter rate of 9.07 + HST a month that is billed to all summer seasonals during the off season. Any kilowatt hours used from November-April will be read and billed in April. All extended season customers, your hydro readings will continue as normal.

WINTERIZING: Winterizing begins October 18th, and will be billed on the statement coming out this week. If we are waiting for your key please ensure we have it before then. If you want winterizing and haven't signed up yet, here are the links:

OFF SEASON TRAILER USE: We are happy to be able to announce that the park will remain open for summer seasonals to use their trailer for some off season camping- WAIT KEEP READING. This doesn't mean staying here 7 days a week. There is a max 2 night stay per week and is also dependent on the outside bathrooms remaining open. So here's the scoop - prior to covid we were seeing alot of misuse and unnecessary messes in the outside bathrooms. We will leave a small selection of cleaning supplies in the laundry room so that if you make a mess you can clean it up. Our bathrooms are not the spot to dump port-a-potties. Also if we get complaints about noise coming from your site, there is a once strike rule, and you won't be allowed back for the remainder of the off season. We are hopeful that with common sense and respect from all customers, Hillside will remain a spot for you to visit over the winter.

TRAILER CLOSING CHECKLIST: 

• Clean off slide (after winterizing) and bring in (close) for the winter. Ensure that you have a nice clean seal (ie. no leaves/debris).
• Disconnect water hose and store in a safe place
• Safely store all liquids and gels to protect from freezing
• Take home any edibles (this helps prevent rodents)
• Pack up and secure any outdoor furniture, taking down any soft roofed gazebos (they will not last the winter)
• Prepare your lot for us to rake (remove and safely store garden lights, small decor etc.)
