A NOTE FROM MRS. LANZ

Dear Parents,

We made it to the end of the first quarter!  I hope you and your family have enjoyed the day off today, and have had some time to reflect back on the beginning of this school year. I have been so encouraged by the great things that have been happening all over campus these past 9 weeks, and am excited for what God has for us this next quarter. Here are a couple important reminders for next week:

  1. Progress Reports will be e-mailed to you on Sunday and will reflect your student's 1st Quarter grades.  These grades will not appear on report cards or transcripts but are a snapshot of progress this quarter.
  2. Wednesday, 10/13 is PSAT/SAT Testing Day for all students grades 9-11.
    • PSAT Test will be administered to all our 9-11th grade students from 8:00-11:30 AM. Students should be dropped off at the normal start time, and will be released at 12:00 PM.  Students are to be in uniform. Due to PSAT criteria, students will not be able to be released early if they finish, so they should bring something to read. This is a half day so please plan to pick up your student at 12:00 noon. See the 10/8 email from Kathy Alesi for your student's testing location.
    • Seniors who have signed up for the "School Day SAT" will take that test on campus Wednesday, 10/13. Seniors who are not taking the SAT Test do not need to attend school on testing day.
    • CJHS (7th and 8th graders) will have a normal school day on campus 10/13. They will have an 8 bell schedule so they can attend all their classes, and should be picked up and dropped off at the normal times.

I am so grateful for our Christian Jr/Sr High Community, and thank you for your partnership with us!

A NOTE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE

Infection Prevention
This time of year, cold and flu viruses are everywhere! It’s important to remember the basics of infection prevention and understanding how germs spread.
#1- Wash your hands! Washing your hands or using hand sanitizer is the number one way to prevent the spread or obtain an infection. Just remember, your hands touch EVERYTHING! So, before you eat, lick your fingers, rub your eyes, or pick your nose, just think… where have my hands been today?
#2- Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose. Your eyes, mouth, and nose are all great gateways into your body for those germs to make you sick!
#3- Remember to cough or sneeze into your ELBOW, NOT your hands. Let’s be honest, we don’t all carry tissues around to cough or sneeze into and discard after we have done so. So instead of coughing or sneezing into your hands, then touching a surface with your now contaminated hands, use your elbow that touches nothing!
#4- DO NOT share water bottles, food, or utensils. LOTS of germs spread through saliva, and every time you share one of these items, you are essentially sharing saliva!
#5- STAY HOME if you are not feeling well! Being contagious and coming to school is a quick way to spread germs to a lot of people. Technology is a great tool that we have now been accustomed to using for keeping up with assignments and communicating with teachers. PLEASE stay home if not feeling well!

LUNCH

Order ahead to save time! Boonli is the ordering site for the Oasis and orders must be submitted by 10am on the day before it is needed. You can order for several days and/or up to several weeks in advance. For the Café: Only Juniors and Seniors can access the Café during lunch time. Take out orders only! You can order up to 15 minutes before service for the Café. You may experience a long wait time due to volume if your orders are not made in advance.

UNIFORM UPDATE

Dear Christian Unified Parents:

Thank you for your patience as we work hard to complete all uniform orders. Many items are still on back order from the manufacturer due to unprecedented supply chain and labor shortage issues. This is making it a challenge to provide exact dates for delivery as the shipping dates from manufacturers change frequently. We assure you that we are doing everything we can to expedite the process and are completely focused on getting your items to you as soon as possible. As soon as your items come in, we will fulfill your order and call you when it’s ready to be picked up at your school campus of choice.

Please go to shoppatriotwear.com for the latest updates, to place new orders, or make appointments for sizing, exchanges/refunds.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at info@shoppatriotwear.com. I will do my best to respond to you as quickly as possible.   Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Blessings Always,

Doug Whitney
