Auckland stays at Alert Level 3. Yesterday Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced a road map for how Auckland will exit Alert Level 3. The road map has three steps and Step 1 begins at 11.59pm tonight. You can see the key points for each of the 3 steps in the images below.

Vaccination is still the key to safely moving out of Alert Level 3 and to stop any further lockdowns. So please if you haven’t been vaccinated yet, there are many opportunities to do so included in this Pasifika Post. If you talk to anyone who has been affected by the Covid virus, they have all said "I wish I got vaccinated." As we have said many times before, if you are unsure then talk to your GP, or contact us here at Alliance Health Plus.

As of 4th October, 112,700 (67.3%) Pacific people* have had a least 1 Covid vaccination in the Metro Auckland region.

We would like to acknowledge everyone who has been involved in setting up pop-up vaccination clinics for our Pacific Communities. This past weekend pop-ups were lead by the communities of Tuvalu, Kiribati, Tokelau, Tonga and Samoa. The Tuvalu, Kiribati and Tokelau event delivered almost 500 vaccinations (more than 50% were their 1st dose), the Tongan event, close to 1,500 and the Samoan event, just over 4,500. WELL DONE to the community and everyone involved!

Due to demand, the Samoan Rally Your Village vaccination event has been extended until Wednesday 6th October, so please head to the Vodafone Event Centre with your family to be vaccinated. They are giving away FREEBIES for those who come down!
No appointment needed.

Covid vaccination FACTS
We know that for some of our Pacific community there is still hesitancy around getting the Covid vaccine.

Contributing to this hesitancy is a lot of incorrect information that is often seen and shared on social media.

Please remember to find your vaccine information in reliable places - we have shared some of these below:

How do we know the Covid vaccine can be
used safely now and into the future?

Dr Nikki Turner, the Director of the Immunisation Advisory Centre here in Aotearoa, speaks about how we know the Covid vaccine can be used safely now, and into the future.
"We have more accumulated data on this vaccine, than pretty much any other vaccine we've ever had" - Dr Nikki Turner.

FREE TAXI to get your Covid vaccination
You can now catch a Blue Bubble Taxi to one the 15 community vaccination centres including the airport drive-through vaccination site at Mangere, to get your FIRST DOSE.
  • This service is aimed at people who cannot make their own way to their vaccination because of transport or mobility issues.
  • To book a taxi phone the Pacific Vaccination Healthline on 0800 21 12 21.
Look out for vaccination buses!
The Covid Vaccination Buses are still travelling around to provide convenient vaccinations.

You do NOT need an appointment, you can just walk up to any of the buses when you see them. If you know your NHI number take it with you, this just makes it a little faster for staff to register you. If you do not know it, it doesn't matter, you will still be vaccinated.

If you choose to get your vaccine at a bus or walk in vaccination centre, please remember to cancel your booking by visiting bookmyvaccine.nz OR phoning the Pacific Covid Healthline on 0800 21 12 21.

The Auckland buses are called; Shot Bro, Shot Cuzz, Busifika Vaxx, Shot Doy and Tuuwatawata.

You can find out where the buses are going to be by clicking here and visiting the Healthpoint website.
