METHODOLOGY FOR METERED & MEASURED ENERGY COOKING DEVICES
New approach to quantify GHG impact from metered cooking devices through direct measurement of energy or fuel

This new methodology, developed and submitted by ClimateCare and Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS), applies to modern energy cooking appliances that directly measure in real-time the amount of energy or fuel used in the project scenario. This includes, but not restricted to, LPG, electric and biogas metered cookstoves, and bio-ethanol cookstoves.

The methodology aims to use the data capabilities of modern energy cooking appliances to scale carbon finance for clean cooking solutions.

REDUCED EMISSIONS FROM COOKING AND HEATING V4.0
Technologies and Practices to Displace Decentralized Thermal Energy Consumption (TPDDTEC)

Revised methodology to quantify emission reductions from cooking and heating project activities

We are pleased to share this revised methodology which replaces V3.1 of the TPDDTEC methodology. This methodology applies to programmes or activities that introduce technologies and/or practices that reduce or displace GHG emissions from thermal energy consumption.

The objective of this revision is to reduce monitoring requirements and transaction costs for project developers, whilst reflecting latest developments in the cookstove sector to ensure the highest level of rigour are maintained.

The methodology will come into effect from 07 January 2022.

SOIL ORGANIC CARBON (SOC) PULP AND PAPER MODULE

New approach to calculate and monitor the climate impact of applying organic soil improvers from pulp and paper sludge

This new Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) Activity Module targets European based pulp and paper manufacturing. Processing/recycling the mill sludge from industrial operations reduces waste and creates soil improvers that enhance soil organic matter in agriculture systems. By increasing the soil organic carbon content, physical properties of soil are improved and CO2e is sequestered.

We are seeking your inputs into this new module, specifically on the relevant GHGs, scope, applicability and quantification approach.

Please provide feedback directly into the draft methodology and submit online by COB 07 November 2021.

 RULE UPDATE

SMALLHOLDER, SMALL SCALE AND MICROSCALE DEFINITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR LAND-USE AND FORESTRY (LUF) PROJECTS

This rule update introduces the change in definitions of “microscale”, “small scale” and “smallholder” projects applying Land-Use and Forestry Activity Requirements. The change in definitions aligns project type/scale with the applicable methodologies and ensures consistency across the project types.
