Bethel UCC helps build a caring community

September was Good Samaritan Home month at Bethel United Church of Christ. Members of the church celebrated their historic connection to the Home by highlighting our mission in their worship. Our chaplain, Rev. Michael Erwin, stopped by for worship one Sunday, and the church sent financial support to help repair the cooling system for the Home.

When Dr. Henry Weiss had the vision for a new kind of senior care in the Evansville community, he turned first to his home church, Bethel United Church of Christ. Sixty years later, Bethel remains a faithful member of the Good Samaritan Home.

Rev. Sam Buehrer of Bethel also offers worship leadership for our residents on a regular basis. And several of Bethel's members are also members of the Good Samaritan Home Auxiliary. Thank you Bethel UCC!

Arrrrgh Mateys!

Local churches asked to support the purchase of a new transport van

The Philanthropy Committee of the Board is seeking donations from area churches for a new transport van for the Good Samaritan Home.

Every day residents of the Home need rides to doctors’ offices and other healthcare appointments. Those rides will be more comfortable for our residents with a new Ford Transit Connect Van with a wheel chair lift/ramp.

If your church would like to participate, please contact Rev. Michael Erwin, 812-459-0457, or merwin@goodsamhome.org
