Parks Forum Meeting Sat 16th October 10am Zoom

The agenda for the Parks Forum meeting on Sat 16th October is now available at www.bristolparksforum.org.uk/BPF161021agenda.pdf

This meeting will be on zoom, there is a link in the agenda.

One of the items for discussion will be the dates and format of future meetings. The committee would like to return to face to face meetings next year, but perhaps we should also have some meetings on zoom?

As you will see from the agenda, the main item for discussion is the Council's Ecological Emergency Action Plan. Sarah Jackson will give a short introduction to the plan and then there will be plenty of time for questions, so do please have a look at the plan (there is a link on the agenda) ahead of the meeting and be ready with any questions.

This meeting is also our AGM. The existing committee (listed at www.bristolparksforum.org.uk/contacts/ ) have all been in post for several years now (some of us longer than others) and it would be good to have some new blood. If you would like to find out more about what being on the committee involves then please do get in touch. We aim to have one or two committee meetings between each of the main Parks Forum meetings and there are also other adhoc meetings as necessary, but a lot is done by email.

The AGM is also a chance to review our Terms of Reference. The committee is not proposing any changes at the meeting but we will be asking whether you think it still meets our needs. In particular do you agree that the aims set out at the top are still up to date & relevant. If there is a feeling that an update is needed then we will be asking for volunteers to help put together proposals for the next meeting.

One other item of news - as you may have seen in the local press Cllr Ellie King has ben appointed to Cabinet and has taken over responsibilitiy for parks from Cllr Asher Craig. The Council's press release is here.
