Greetings, Fellow Travelers!
Are you present in experiencing the cycles of life and nature? There are so many cycles, aren’t there? We all think of the moon cycle, sun cycle, and season cycle, but just as real are the cycles of fear, love, losing and remembering ourselves, birthing, dying, and rebirthing ourselves (metaphorically, of course).
September just feels like New Years to me - the end of the current fertility cycle and the beginning of the next one - and it literally is for people who practice Judaism: Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. Autumn feels magical. It’s a great time to set new intentions, choose a new habit or a new routine, start a project you’ve been wanting to do or put aside, or perhaps sign up for a new course (wink wink). Yes, I have a fresh offer coming up on October 1st. It’s almost ready! I’ll share a few details below.
Take time to honor Autumn
Do you already have one or more rituals you do in celebration and reverence for Autumn? Some rituals are ceremonial and official while others are less so but no less sacred, like taking a walk or drive each year to the same beautiful place to see the fall colors.
The most recent ritual I created is the one I do before a session of work. I can sometimes be a little scattered; my mind goes all kinds of directions and it can be really hard to focus. I interrupt myself constantly! So I decided to try something new and create a ritual to honor the sacred work I do to create courses, services, art, and reflections to serve you in your evolutionary journey to Self.
Each time I do this 3-5 minute ritual my work sessions are completely different. I feel grounded, focused, excited, and in the flow… it feels so good!
When we practice ritual, we move into the moment, we become present and intentional and, depending on our spiritual life, we also partner with something bigger than us - and that’s freaking powerful! Try it! Create one for yourself. Keep it simple.
If you’d like more information on creating a ritual, let me know! You don’t need fancy instruments or even a “special” space - your power is inside you, you carry it wherever you go!
Falling into the world of Paradox
Several years ago, I offered an in-depth class that explores the world of Paradox with the goal of helping students discover and claim their inner dualities and live in a state of “both/and” instead of “either/or.” It was a popular course and I got a lot of great feedback, like this comment:
