Auditions Due Friday, 10/1 and Friday, 10/8
We are nearing the audition deadlines for All-State and WIBC.
ALL-STATE: Friday, October 1
Students should be done recording by the end of this week for All-State.
- A form is available on CANVAS for students to complete and upload their recordings.
- Mr. Riler will register all of the students of All-State who complete this form and upload all of their recordings.
Mr. Riler's deadline is Monday, Oct 4th, so he will need time to register all entries (almost 25 students have indicated that they plan to audition!) The audition fee for All-State will be paid by Friends of Cleveland Band!
WIBC: Friday, October 8
Students will register for WIBC at the below link.
- Students will upload their recordings on this registration site.
- When they get to final part of the registration form, DO NOT PAY THE FEE.
- Mr. Riler will be able to pay the fee from the director's side of the WIBC site.
The fee is being paid by our Friends of Cleveland Band parent group!

Wind Symphony & Jazz Ensemble Concert Attire
A document was sent home with the Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble students. Here is a link to the document.
It is important for those that have already purchased attire in the past to be sure that everything still fits. We are still waiting for the representative from Mr Formal to set up a time (or times) to come to Cleveland to measure everyone.
Families can easily pay online via SchoolPay. If you are only needing certain items, you can wait until I can get a price list for individual items (ties, shirt, shoes, etc) before making a payment.

Play-a-thon 2021— Coming Soon!
Keep your eyes peeled for a very important announcement regarding the Play-a-thon on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
This year’s Play-a-thon takes place on Friday, October 15th, 2021. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and it’s a lot of fun. As you might already know, the CHS Band program receives no direct funding from the school district. Your donations are what keep this program running. Money raised at the Play-a-thon supports all aspects of our program and covers a variety of costs such as purchasing sheet music, subsidies for performance attire, travel to festivals and parades, solo and ensemble registrations, specialist teacher support, among others.
Some high schools institute a mandatory fee for band of $100 or more per student, in addition to instrument rental fees charged by the district. Mr. Riler and the Friends of Cleveland Bands feel strongly that access should be available to all. This is why we ask friends and family to support the program with donations that are meaningful and appropriate to them. We do not want to limit any student's ability to participate!
