Some of the garments and body adornment from last Sunday’s fashion event are available to add to your wardrobe!

These include spectacular ball gowns by Kanapot from Thailand, and Booka, the decorated kangaroo skin cloaks by Aboriginal designer artist Lea Taylor of Creative Culture. Also beautifully woven and stitched dresses, coats and shawls by Indian designers Shabri Wable of Bajra, and Guarav Jai Gupta of Akaaro. And beaded body jewellery by Sharon Wendo of Epica.

Join curator Maggie Baxter to view up close the craftsmanship and also to try on and purchase. Only today at John Curtin Gallery, Sunday 26 September from 12 noon til 4pm.

You can also enjoy the exhibition at the same time: Curiosity & Rituals of the Everyday.

Read about the designers here.

If you cannot attend today to view the garments, please make an appointment with Maggie Baxter or contact us for a sale sheet.

Garland magazine's latest quarterly issue contains stories from the wider world that reveal a rich dialogue between East and West, to coincide with IOTA21.

The issue uses the motif of the boteh to promote the mythic origins of the paisley design appropriated by the British. This coincides with a re-alignment of our cultural landscape prompted by the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial.

Join the launch of the issue on Monday 27 September at 3pm (Western Australian time). This is a chance to meet the contributors and explore the work of Audrey Fernandes-Satar and Arif Satar who are exhibiting at Fremantle Arts Centre.
