- Parent Teacher Conference-

- Masks: Please ensure your student has access to at least 1 additional mask. Students often need to change their masks following recess.
- Sweaters: Our classroom can be a bit chilly, as we need to keep our air conditioning running to maintain proper airflow and ensure that it does not get hot and stuffy. Students are encouraged to bring in a cardigan sweater to wear, or a long-sleeved shirt under their uniform polo shirt. No hoodies, please.
- As the new school year begins, we are committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. Students will now be automatically enrolled in the COVID-19 testing program that supports asymptomatic testing, symptomatic testing, and testing for close contacts. The test will be a non-invasive, saliva-based PCR test. Instead of a nasal swab, students will hold a small vial with a funnel attached and produce a saliva sample.
Consistent with health guidance, SWWFS will test 10 percent of students (55 students in total - 2 to 3 students per classroom) each week to screen for COVID-19 as part of our health and safety protocols. Weekly asymptomatic testing will be held every Wednesday.
If you wish to opt-out your student from receiving any COVID-19 test at school, you must complete the available form at osse.dc.gov/page/school-based-covid-19-testing and return it back to the school signed. You can email opt-out documents to our school’s registrar Ms. Kara

This transition from an opt-in COVID-19 testing model to an opt-out model does not affect a parent’s rights concerning their student’s participation. On the form, the District is providing detailed information on the testing program so that parents can make an informed decision whether to affirmatively opt out of the program. - Máscaras: Asegúrese de que su estudiante tenga acceso a al menos 1 máscara adicional. Los estudiantes a menudo necesitan cambiar su máscara después del recreo.
- Suéteres: Nuestro aula puede estar un poco fría, ya que necesitamos mantener nuestro aire acondicionado en funcionamiento para mantener el flujo de aire adecuado y asegurarnos de que no se caliente y se congestión.
