Vaccine Passport

You will need to have proof of Covid-19 vaccination in order to enter certain venues in NSW once lockdown restrictions start to ease. This will come in the form of a 'Vaccine Passport' which is a digital certificate of your immunisation history.

How you get proof depends on your situation. This includes if you need to create a myGov account, link services or enrol in Medicare.

If you’re 14 or older, you’ll need to get your own digital certificate or immunisation history statement using either:

Service NSW also has a tool that you can use to find out the easiest way to get proof of your COVID-19 vaccinations, based on your situation. For further information or to find out how you can access your immunisation history, click on the below link.

October - Mental Health Month

October is mental health month! Covid-19 has impacted us all in unique and personal ways. This has had a negative impact on our mental health.

This month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help-seeking behaviours when needed.

Check out the events page below to get involved!

Covid-19 Equity Focused Health Impact Assessment

The Health Equity Research and Development Unit (HERDU) at Sydney Local Health District is undertaking an Equity Focussed Health Impact Assessment on the medium to long term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and our response to it (e.g. lockdowns, physical distancing, changes to how we access services).

Invitation: HERDU invites social housing residents who live within Sydney Local Health District to participate in a 60-minute focus group. The purpose is to gather views and experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic, including what you think the longer-term impacts might be and what we can do to make the most of positive changes and reduce the negatives.

What we need from you: People who attend the focus group will need to sign an online consent form and we will record and take notes of the focus group. Participants can change their minds at any time about being involved. In our report, the findings from the focus group will be anonymous.

Next steps: If you are interested in participating, please indicate your availability by completing the online poll using this link.

Once a suitable date has been determined, we will contact you again with confirmation and provide any interested participants with a Participant Information Statement and online consent form outlining the details of the project, and an invitation to participate online via Zoom.

The findings from the study will inform Sydney Local Health District’s and partner’s continuing response to Covid-19 and future planning. The report will be publicly available.

Covid-19 Fines Issued Incorrectly

Redfern Legal Centre has been assisting many clients who have been issued COVID-19 fines ($1,000 or $3,000) for undertaking "recreation", which is not prohibited by the current Health Orders outside the local government areas of concern. Clients have been wrongly fined for:
  • Sitting in a park by themselves or with one other person or nominated person or household member.
  • Sitting alone in a car.
If you think that you have been wrongly fined, you can seek advice from:
  1. Your local community legal centre.
  2. Redfern Legal Centre.
  3. Legal Aid - contact through Law Access on 1300 888 529.
