We also encourage our families to reach out to local businesses in your community for sponsorships in addition to potential employer matching benefits. Dear Lutz Prep Families,
As previously shared, the Lutz Prep Board of Directors voted to adopt HCPS's mask and quarantine policies during an emergency meeting held on August 23rd. As part of such, we wanted to make our families aware that by continuing to follow *HCPS quarantine policies at this current time, a protocol update has been made to the student close contact of a confirmed positive case.
Covid-19 protocols and other related information can be found on Lutz Prep’s website when clicking on the Covid-19 Hub. Our school will continue to notify parents or guardians of the students and staff who are identified as being in direct contact with a reported positive case with guidance or steps needed.
Parents or legal guardians of students who are known to have been in direct contact with an individual who received a positive diagnostic test for COVID-19 may choose one of the following options:
A. Allow the student to attend school, so long as the student remains asymptomatic
OR
B. Quarantine the student for a period of time not to exceed 7 days from the date of last direct contact with the individual that is positive for COVID-19.
Important: It is our recommendation that parents choose option B. The parent or legal guardian will need to communicate their decision between choices listed above at the time of the school’s notification of potential exposure by completing a google form/link provided from Lutz Prep. This communication is necessary for teachers to identify which students need lessons posted in Canvas or materials prepared for at-home learning, as well as documentation steps the school must submit to the Department of Health and HCPS.
Our school still recommends quarantine for anyone who is in direct contact with a positive case consistent with our protocols:
Student is fully vaccinated;
Student tested positive in the last 90 days;
Student was three feet or more from the positive individual where both the positive and the exposed individuals were properly wearing masks.
It is important to note that COVID-19 symptoms may not appear until several days after exposure so we are asking everyone to continue to conduct health self-checks daily and continue to abide by our Wellness Pledge prior to sending students back to campus.
Stay safe,
Lutz Prep Administration
*Information provided is current at the time of communication being sent. Due to this fluid time, all protocols and policies are subject to change. Thank you for your understanding.
