Session I 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Pre-Register: SESSION II

This hands-on and in-person workshop explores the creative possibilities of cardboard as a medium for art design and set construction, not only in terms of function, but also its sculptural and narrative potential. We will create a participatory sculpture that will be completed and displayed as a set during live readings of our COVID Monologues.

During both sessions, Eu will be providing a short lesson on how to use cardboard as a sustainable, flexible, and efficient medium for set-design and construction.

SESSION I: participants will see the sculpture at the beginning of the construction. And SESSION II: will see it to its completion. ALL participants are welcome to partake in one or both session.

We are asking all participants to wear masks and are vaccinated. Masks can be provided for you. We will also be providing hand wipes, hand sanitizer, snacks and water for your convenience. Please email us at breathoffirelatinatheater@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.

EU TAZÉ

Eugenie Tazé Bernard - Artist Residency

Born in Lima, Peru Eu Tazé specialized in scenography at the Royal Higher School of Dramatic Art in Madrid, Spain in 2011-2012 to then continue her studies pursuing a Masters Degree in Theater and other Arts at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in France (2015). She is a set designer by profession, she approaches the world of sculpture in a self-taught way.

Throughout her professional career, Tazé's works have been part of her on various stages around the world, such as in various festivals in France and Holland, in the French Alliance of Miraflores, the Selvámonos Festival in Oxapampa and others. Tazé uses cardboard in a way contrary to most artists, instead of wanting to point out a gap between the value of works of art and cheap raw materials or to denounce consumerism and the accumulation of disposable waste, Tazé takes care of cardboard, and dignifies its use as an accessible medium.
