The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon will take place this weekend as a part of the annual race weekend throughout the city. On Saturday, October 2, both the Memorial 5k and the Kids Marathon will take place followed by the Marathon, Relay, and Half Marathon on Sunday, October 3.

On April 19, 1995, we witnessed an act of terrorism in Oklahoma City. In the
aftermath of the attack, and over the past 26 years, our city continues to come together and memorialize those who were killed, those who survived, and those who were changed forever. One of the many results from this mission was the creation of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon which was first held in 2001. This annual race draws around 25,000 runners from across the globe to Run to Remember.
"We are all thrilled to be back in person for the 21st running of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon," said Kari Watkins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. "The runners, volunteers, city and state leaders told us loud and clear – we want to race the course in person. We all want a safe race and we’ve done everything we know to do in working closely with local hospitals that are part of our team."
Whether you're running the race yourself, cheering on a loved one, or supporting the community, we encourage you to take part in race weekend activities as the city rallies together in remembrance.

"It will be very meaningful," ensured Watkins. "We will make sure the race stands for and continues to meet the same mission it met the last time we ran the race. It’s our chance to teach another generation why this Run to Remember is so important. On this sacred ground, we find common ground and people want to be a part of that."
