Paul at The Palms - Pastor Paul Whitlock

Pastor Paul's Ponderings
Thank you.

Thank you for being the church, the palms of Jesus right here, right now. In your words and deeds, you are making a radical difference in the lives of people.

British author, G.K. Chesterton, as his days were coming to an end, decided to write his autobiography. What made it so unique was that in the story of his life he tried to—in only one sentence—describe the most important lesson he had learned.

Wow! That’s quite a task. What would you say is the most important lesson you have learned? Can you condense it down into one sentence?

Chesterton concluded that the most important lesson he had learned was that it is critical “whether one takes things for granted—or takes things with gratitude.” What are the things we take for granted? Family, friends, church, country, health, home. What are the things we accept in a spirit of gratitude? Family, friends, church, country, health, home. The distinction between these two attitudes makes a radical difference in living right here, right now, as we live at The Palms.

Shalom, Paul
