Dear fellow theatregoers and supporters, I hope this note finds you well and in good spirits. It’s now been two years since our last live stage production, and we are happy to announce that we will be back on stage in June 2022 with my new play Legacy. The play is cast and our actors are eager to start rehearsing and get back on stage. I am also proud to announce that one of my oldest friends and colleagues in the business, Harry Standjofski, will be directing our new production. As a playwright, it is always important to me that I hand over the script to someone who will challenge me, inspire me, and surprise me with his/her artistic talent. And in Harry’s hands, I have one of the most talented theatre minds I have ever known. This is all very exciting.
Legacy deals with a false accusation emanating from the Charbonneau Commission, and how social media can play a major part in the destruction of a man’s business and personal life. The play is a continuation of the Testa family history from The Chain set 30 years later. The eldest son Joe is forced to deal with an accusation that makes his family look deeply into their own loyalties and convictions as the very essence of family is challenged to its core. We will start rehearsing in May 2022.
Another bit of good news is that we here at MagJusJen Entertainment now have our own headquarters or office, all thanks to our Executive Producer Barry Lorenzetti. For the first time in my career, I now have a space I can call my office. But this space is more than just an office, we have our own rehearsal hall, costume storage, editing room for our film projects and social media content, and we also have a dazzling kitchen where we can cook our own meals for special occasions. Who knows, maybe one day we will invite some of you here where I will have the pleasure of cooking and meet you personally. It’s just a stunning space.
Lastly, I want to say how sad the MagJusJen team is with the passing of Giuseppe Borsellino. Mr. Borsellino was on our Advisory Council and he was the main reason why our productions will be held at the Leonardo Da Vinci Centre in St. Leonard. I had the pleasure of meeting him on a few occasions, and I found him to be a kind, gentle and a learned man. He was a giant pillar of our Italian Community, and his philanthropic contributions throughout his long career are legendary. He was a giant of a man, and we will miss him dearly.
