Happy Fall! The leaves in the Village are changing and it is one of my favorite times of the year. This weekend is a busy one as we prepare to co-host the Taste of Burr Ridge (text TASTE to (630) 647-5683 for 10% off) and the Annual Car Show at Burr Ridge Village Center. I hope you’ll join us! There is still time to register for both. As leaves start to fall, please remember: Brush Pick Up Start Date is Monday, October 25th. Make sure to put branches in the parkway by no later than 7:00 a.m. on the 25th. More details here

As a reminder, The Village of Burr Ridge will be closed on October 11th for In-Service Day. Please leave us a message while we are away at (630) 654-8181. Halloween is nearly upon us. Do you have your costume? We are excited to see everyone out and about trick or treating on October 31st from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tag us in your photos with the hashtag #VBRHalloween so we can see your costumes and be entered to win a $25 gift card from a Burr Ridge business of your choice.

Have a great month and stay safe!

Sincerely,

Evan Walter

More Details On Public Meetings

Make it a safe Halloween by following the guidelines recommended by the Burr Ridge Police Department. “Trick-or-Treating” is from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on October 31st. Homeowners are recommended to leave a front light on. Motorists are reminded to be alert to those participating in “trick-or-treating.”

Sidewalk Project
A sidewalk project that broke ground in 2019 on County Line Road between Plainfield Road and 60th Street resumed construction on Monday, September 27. This project fills a significant gap in our Village’s pathway network and leverages a $284,000 federal grant to complete. Occasional traffic delays can be expected in this area until late November.

On Monday, September 27th, Richard Scherer was honored for his achievements as the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter Backhoe Competition Champion. Rich is an employee in the Public Works Department and has been with the Village of Burr Ridge since 2015.
