AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED!
We need your new, valuable donations
for our fundraising auction.
We are excited to announce our first online auction fundraiser has been scheduled for December 4-11, 2021.

We are in need of sponsors and a variety of donated items to put up for bid to make this fundraiser a success! If you are interested in participating, email NPconservancy@gmail.com or call or text 941-218-9775. We'll send you our fundraiser information packet containing all the details you'll need to know to join in.

We look forward to collaborating with our local community residents and business organizations in continuing our mission to conserve undeveloped land in North Port and its Surrounding Areas.
 SLASH PINES SAVED
We recently did the first field evaluation of our most recently donated ¼ acre parcel from Dick and Isabella Copenhaver. We are thrilled to confirm the parcel hosts 35 slash pine trees of various circumference, the most we’ve conserved on one parcel thus far.

Slash pines create a natural bird sanctuary...they provide shelter to birds from predators, places to perch for ospreys and owls on the hunt, attract the pileated and other woodpeckers and are home to owls. Black Vultures and migratory birds will rest in them. Even eagles and egrets will make their nests in the treetops of a large pine. Pine seeds are a great food source for squirrels and other animals. (Info source:
https://www.south-florida-plant-guide.com).

North Port in particular is in a “Pine Flatwoods” community; these trees are meant to be here. Unfortunately though, they are being removed for development in our area and Statewide at a rapid pace every single day with few to none being conserved or replaced. If you don’t have any in your yard, we encourage you to plant at least one today! Planting back what once grew on your parcel before your home was built is an ideal way to help maintain our area’s biodiversity and tree canopy. Contact us and we can help you choose the right place in your yard to host this beautiful and important tree. (email NPconservancy@gmail.com or call or text 941-218-9775)

All Clams On Deck is focused on maintaining clean water in the Southwest Florida estuaries
All Clams On Deck is a new water quality initiative that will support ecosystem sustainability and resilience through restoring clam populations and seagrass meadows in the Charlotte Harbor, Sarasota Bay and Tampa Bay estuaries.
