After the Summer
Dear Friends and Family,
The Summer has quickly passed and we were very sad not to have been able to visit the UK. Summer however was a fun time with a good rest at the end. We very much enjoyed the summer church-youth camp in an idyllic setting with around 160 of us. Andy led the morning teaching together with Szilárd from Mark's gospel and we both benefited from the Christian Conflict Resolution sessions that our Pastor Robi gave.
The summer was also busy working hard to encourage youth pastors and youth leaders to join our Acorn Bible Training course (ABK). We praise God that after lots of prayers, phone calls, conversations, emails and more prayers of desperation - God has brought 15 people to the course (for the 12 places advertised). PTL.
This very much helped us relax in August. Restrictions, and unknowns made us steer for the cautious option of staying in Hungary. Sadly Andy's Russian vaccine isn't recognised in the UK, so a 10 day quarantine is a must at any point. But we are planning to go back for Christmas.
So we have much to thank God for as another academic year has begun. Réka is settled in her new school (together with David). Emily enjoys being the only Oatridge at her school, and David's friendships are growing. Some classmates have joined the church football on Tuesdays, and are interested in coming to youth group.
We also highly recommend a book "The Ruthless elimination of Hurry" by Mark John Comer. We are both reading it, and finding it helpful, encouraging and quite a challenge!!!
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support, and do drop us a line and let us know how we can pray for you.
