Regional Exchange in Central Europe

From the 23rd until the 27th of September, OBESSU held its first Regional Exchange (IN PERSON!) after a long time. We met in Prague together with Members from the Central Europe region to share best practices and ideas. The event created a space for discussions and cooperation among OBESSU Organisations.

A second Regional Exchange is taking place in Belgrade now, where Organisations from the Balkan region will also have the chance to share their experiences and challenges of the past year.

We have been missing in person events a lot, and with all the health measures and precautions, we can finally say that the OBESSU spirit starts to sparkle again 🥳

Lifelong Learning Platform General assembly

On the 23rd and 24th of September, the Lifelong Learning Platform members gathered from all corners of Europe to participate in the 2021 General Assembly of the Lifelong Learning Platform.
It was the first time that LLLP held a hybrid GA, with participants both in presence in Brussels and online.

The Membership has steered LLLPs advocacy, determined the priorities of the organisation and planned the year ahead.

And guess what? Giuseppina Tucci, Secretary General of OBESSU, has been elected as the new President of the platform, along with a new composed Steering Committee.

On the 15th of September the #SOTEU2021 took place and OBESSU has something to say about it!

As many times before, OBESSU has missed more clarity and willingness to work on important matters such as education and youth rights.

OBESSU at the Fundamental Rights Forum 2021

The outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic has had various and different consequences for students and young people.

In the scope of the Fundamental Rights Foru m, OBESSU together with ETUCE - European Trade Union Committee for Education will host the session ''How ensure inclusive education in Europe’s future?'' on the 11th and 12th of October.

Lifelong Learning Week 2021

The 11th edition of the Lifelong Learning Week will take place on 29 November – 3 December 2021. It emerged that wellbeing is an under-represented and under-addressed topic in education, but – especially in COVID times.

For 2021, the iconic event will tackle the topic “The changing nature of evaluation in education and its impact on learners’ wellbeing“.

OBESSU – The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. It was founded in April 1975 in Dublin, Ireland and brings together Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations from 24 European countries. All Member Organisations are independent, national, representative and democratic school student organisations.
