The Toolbox Training
Autumn 2021
Hello everyone and welcome to the Toolbox options for Autumn 2021

We are all encouraged in the Bible to grow in our faith. Becoming a Christian is the most amazing thing that can happen, but it is the start of the journey. When we commit our lives to God and become Christian, we are not the finished product, we continue to grow in our faith throughout our lives.

The reason we have called this new initiative ‘Toolbox’ is because we all need different things (tools) at different times depending on our circumstances to help us grow in our faith. Factors that may impact what we need in our lives might include: what we know already; what we are facing right now; how long we have been a Christian. The GBC Toolbox is an opportunity for us to learn, reflect and grow in areas which are most relevant to our faith journey at the moment. Each term we will offer a number of different options for you to choose from. For some people being part of a weekly Care and Connect group is the way that they will continue to grow, and these new Toolbox options are not in competition with that.

This term we have a few initial options for you to engage with. In the spring and summer terms next year we will have a larger selection to choose from.

All events can be booked by either emailing
office@godmanchesterbaptist.org or by phoning the office 01480 458565 and leaving a message.

If you have any questions or suggestions for next term, then please let me know.

God bless
 Daniel

Bible Study
Monday 2.30pm-4.00pm
(starting 11 October)

Small Hall, GBC
Led by Philip Thompson
An opportunity each week for further bible study linked to the Sunday AM celebration sermon. When we hear someone preach, it can lead to further questions and reflections that can’t be addressed at the time.  This bible study will be a chance to explore the passage in more depth and consider how it affects our day to day lives.

‘Being Human’ Podcast
Thursday 8.00pm-9.00pm
4 November – 16 December
Zoom (Email Office for link)
Listen to the podcast before we meet to discuss the issues raised

Hosted by Daniel Beckett
The Being Human podcast produced by the Evangelical Alliance is part of their initiative to inspire and equip everyday Christians to understand, articulate and participate in the biblical vision of humanity.
What it is to be human is arguably the most profound, but also most contested question in our culture today.

“Amidst a global pandemic, black lives matter, contentious elections, and accelerating climate change, there is a constant cacophony of voices telling us who we are, what’s true, what’s real, what’s wrong, what will make you happy, and how to get it. Voices telling stories, both big and small, that shape how we live”.

This is an opportunity to begin to grapple with large concepts that are very real in our world today.

Reflection Room
Available all week
Ring the Office to check availability

Room 5, GBC
We have a fantastic space at GBC for reflection and prayer. Each month there is a different theme that you can use to focus your prayers. Or you can use the space to be intentional about praying. The room is available most of the week and can be opened in the evening.
If you would like to commit to prayer each week, why not book the room and come along and commit to praying. You could do this on your own or with a few others.
