Thank You Workshop Leaders & What's Next

We have over 55 workshops for Discoveree 2022 and are diligently working to get the schedule put together. Registration should open in December for our event scheduled for Saturday, February 25th in Union City.

Workshop leaders will hear from us after our October 12 Committee Meeting. Participants will see the 2022 Discoveree brochure in late November and registration opens in early December. We're very excited!

We continue to stay apprised of the current situation in regards to State, County, and Council requirements related to Covid-19. We are working to plan the safest event possible.

Leader Feature: New Badges!

Every month we will have ideas, tips, and resources for you to use during troop meetings or as part of your Girl Scout year.

As you probably know, GSUSA periodically releases new badges. We got 41 new ones this year focused on Math in Nature, Digital Leadership, Cookie Business, and Global Action.

Math in Nature - Daisy, Brownie, Junior Levels (3 badges each)
Cookie Business - ALL Levels (2 badges each; Cadettes have 3)
Digital Leadership - ALL Levels (1 badge each)
Global Action - ALL Levels (2 badges each; Cadettes have 3)

Workshop Feature: Meet Workshop Leader Karen Oliver

Meet long-time workshop leader Karen "Cockroach" Oliver. Karen has fond memories of her girl years including spending time at summer camp sharing laughter and fun. She continues her Girl Scout journey leading troops (for over 25 years!) and as a Learning

Facilitator, because "one really good way to help the girls is to help the leaders." She loves teaching Outdoor Skills at Discoveree as she wants to help leaders get their girls outdoors and away from screens. This year, she will be leading her Outdoor Skills workshop and a SWAPs workshop, sharing yet another Girl Scout tradition.
