National Recycling Week is coming up!
8-14 November

National Recycling Week is celebrating its 25th anniversary! Brimbank is celebrating by helping residents recycle right. While we can't control everything right now, you can make sure your recyclable items are put to good use. Get to know your recycling, because what you do makes a difference. For more information take a look at Council’s webpage dedicated to recycling. Have you ever wondered what happens to your recycling? Follow the journey of a Brimbank kerbside bin to the Material Recovery Facility in Laverton. This facility sorts our recycling into streams of paper, cardboard, hard plastic, aluminium and glass. Download the Litter Stopper app

Last month we encouraged you to complete a walk and litter clean-up with Clean Up Australia, and this month we are sharing an app that you can download to log your hard work. The Litter Stopper app, created by BeachPatrol, allows you to record information from your clean up activities.

To help you enjoy your walk, Conservation Volunteers Australia have developed a Spotify Playlist to download and listen to on your clean up walks as a part of their #SeaToSource campaign.

Parks Victoria Land Management Strategy

Parks Victoria is in the second stage of developing a Land Management Strategy to help manage and respond to the complex social, cultural and environmental changes we all face together, including:

  • Increasing demand for new and diverse visitor experiences,
  • Growing populations and increased pressure on parks,
  • Environmental changes affecting parks,
  • Increased management partnerships including working alongside Traditional Owners.
Once finalised, the Land Management Strategy will underpin planning and management of Parks activities to achieve consistency across the State.

Parks Victoria are now inviting the community to review the draft Strategy and Outcomes Reporting Framework and provide feedback by completing the online survey via Engage Victoria, and attending an upcoming online information session.

More information can be found here.
