Wincle Trout Run 2021

Chester Tri+friends+family at the Wincle Trout Run 2021
A demanding 9.5km fell run (approx. 1,000ft of climb) in the picturesque Dane Valley, with a mix of everything - a river crossing, undulating forest tracks, the rocky chasm of 'Lud's Church', high moorland with fast descending ridge paths and steep stepped, woody descents. Rewarded with a finish at the Wincle brewery and a fresh trout to all finishers. Excellent race, put it on your bucket list!
Lovely to see everyone and well done to Rachel Hollins and Susan Fourie for winning bottles of beer for 2nd+3rd W40!
Full results can be found here and photos here.
2 HillForts Fell Race
Well done to Sam and Simon Oliver who came 3rd and 4th in the 2 HillForts fell race. 16 year old Sam beating his dad to the podium!

Bike Update

Club turbos

Just another reminder, we are planning to restart the Club Turbo Sessions but first we need to call back the turbos we lent out over Lockdown.
Could the following make arrangements to get them back to Christine Paramor in Hoole, Leigh Jenkins in Handbridge or Anthony Brennan in Great Boughton. Alternatively pass them on in person at a club training session.
Thanks very much
Zwift Racing League
The Zwift Racing League has started, and continues on Tuesdays from 19:30 for 8-10 weeks.
This season we are running a B league (3.2-4w/kg) and a C team (2.5-3.2w/kg).
We’ve had some great fun with it over the last year. If you want to be involved or know more, let the bike lead's know, we are always on the look out for riders.
We welcome both male and females to make our minimum numbers, we have a couple of ladies from Port Sunlight Wheelers CC joining us.

Segment Challenge
We’re back to the original segment challenge format of one short segment that all members are welcome to try!! We kick things off with Cheshire West’s finest switchback, a challenging climb by Manley mere, with a large switchback in the middle, you have all of October to ride this K/QOM before a sprint segment in November. You can find more info here.

Weekend Rides
Club weekend rides resume on October 3rd and will continue every weekend alternating between Sat/Sun (navigator dependent) we aim to have 3 groups of varying speeds for all abilities.
There is no longer a cap on numbers, however sign up is still required.
We continue to struggle with enough navigators and welcome any availability to support in navigating a ride from any of our members. Email bike@chestertri.org.uk or let Jonathan Girvan or James Morgan know if you are interested. Find more group riding info here.

Other
Thanks for your feedback from a recent poll, we’re in discussions around dates with Manchester velodrome and local traffic police for a club TT - watch this space for more.
In between ZRL seasons I’ll look to set up some club events on Zwift as well as the occasional social weekend rides.

If your new to the club or been around a while and want to know more about anything bike related let Jonathan Girvan or James Morgan know.

See you on your bike.
