Covid Mitigations
Due to the circulating and highly contagious Delta variant, CDC currently recommends universal indoor masking by all students (age 2 and older), staff, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of their vaccination status. Therefore, our PRG Team has decided that effective immediately, ALL participants and volunteers in children's ministry (Nursery, Sunday School, Wednesday Nights, special events, etc.) are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status when indoors.
Youth Ministry at CCUMC
Our Youth Ministry is looking for a few assistants to hang out with our awesome youth on Sundays and Wednesdays! If you are interested in joining us or know someone who would be a good fit, get in touch with our Director of Youth Ministries, Donna Smith, at donnas@ccumc.net.

Mission Highlight - Prayer Shawls

You may have seen notes in the E-Circuit Rider or the bulletin referring to the prayer shawls - whether requesting more shawls or to let folks know they are welcome to join the Prayer Shawl ministry. But do you know what the Prayer Shawl ministry does?
Before the pandemic, a group of knitters and crocheters from the church and community would meet on a regular basis for a time of fellowship and creation. The outcome? Prayer Shawls! Completed Prayer Shawls were then blessed by Pastor Beth and given to people who needed to be wrapped in extra prayer. During the pandemic, these Prayer Shawls are still being made, blessed, and given out - often to those going through medical procedures or times of loss or hardship. These Prayer Shawls are a reminder that your church cares for you and is wrapping you in comfort and prayer, even in your darkest days.
Do you or someone you know knit or crochet? Would you like to become a part of this vital ministry? Contact Joyce Thompson at joycet@ccumc.net for more information!
Caring for One Another

During this time when we are physically distant from one another, we are joined to one another in prayer. Click on the image above to open our current prayer list. To add to or update information on the prayer list, email Stephanie at stepht@ccumc.net.

We are looking for Prayer Warriors. People who love to Pray. Pray for what or who you ask? Pray over our weekly Prayer List, be willing to pray if an immediate need comes in. Pretty simple. If you are interested please click the image above.

Have you heard about Stephen Ministries?  They are people within your church providing one-to-one care to people going through a crisis or difficult time.  We currently have several people available to meet with you.

For more information, call Sharon Potter at 757-630-4148.

You are loved. You are missed.

I'd like to Zoom/talk with you and pray with you and remind you that God loves you, so do I, so does your church.

If you would like to set up a time to talk, even for five minutes, click or tap the image above to email Stephanie.

The National Church

We continue to pray for those affected by Hurricane Ida. Please remember that any work related to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will start only after all the first responders leave the area. There will be more specific calls to help in the coming weeks and months. The Virginia Conference strongly advises against any self-deployment to these areas. The work of recovery will continue in the coming months and years, and Serving Ministries invite churches to be part of this long journey. Learn more
A document with Frequently Asked Questions about The United Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts has been developed and can be found here. For additional information, please contact the Rev.
