A total of 48 people worked last weekend at 7 Duncanville properties for PIP DAYS. Work was completed at 3 of the properties; the remaining 4 properties will be finished this weekend. Fences have been repaired, A new fence was built. Trees and shrubbery have been trimmed and cut down. Rotted wood has been removed from houses and replaced with new wood. Houses have been power washed and painted. New friendships were formed, old acquaintances refreshed and strengthened. Through it all, the power of God's love for us all was shared with our neighbors in Duncanville. His smile touched everyone involved.
UMCOR has requested flood buckets to replenish their dwindling stockpiles. The items are very specific, so a couple of committee members will buy everything and assemble them, per UMCOR specifications. The Mission Committee has dedicated funds for 5 buckets (approx $75 each), and we are asking for donations to make another 5 buckets. Any amount will help!

We have a need for one or two more adult volunteers for our After School Ministry to work with the kindergarten and first grade children. There will be another adult there to help with the class and training to help get you started. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Bridget@fumc.com
As our children, youth and young adults return to more and more activities we want to remind you that Bridget wants to attend your concerts, recitals, games, plays etc. Please let her know as early as possible so that she can get you on her calendar. Even if you haven’t been in church for awhile she wants to come & catch up with you! Bridget@fumcd.com
Contact Bridget@FUMCD.com if you are interested in bringing your car or truck and passing out candy to our neighbors on Halloween, Sunday, October 31. We will have the lot open for you to park your vehicles until 4:00 and then we will close it to traffic. Children will Trunk or Treat from 4:30 to approximately 5:30.
This year we ask that participants not include games at their vehicles which require children to touch items which have been touched by other participants. We are doing our best to make this a COVID safe event while including all of the fun of Trick or Treating (costumes and wrapped candy).
You may also donate individually wrapped candy by bringing it to the Narthex on Sunday mornings.
Faithful and Serving Men ~ The United Methodist Men will meet on Monday, October 11th at 7pm in 414.
They hope to see you there!
