Distractible, dyslexic--and bright!
If that's your child, get in touch with Carol Barnier about her Barton Buddies program. I asked this witty and wise speaker how she adapted dyslexia remediation for wiggly, distractible kids. She's a friend and a veteran homeschooler, the author of How to Get Your Child Off the Refrigerator and Onto Learner and other great books.

Relaxed, hands-on play makes the best preschool learning

When I began planning to watch my granddaughter, I went to the preschool curriculum I'd always wanted to try. Kathy Lee Eggers, preschool director-turned-homeschool-mom, and Lesli Richards, homeschooling mom of a child on the autism spectrum, wrote this great book that shows how learning can and should be naturally part of your day and their play.
What's it like? My review is here.
What's new this season?
I'm homeschooling a preschool granddaughter twice a week!
I'm convinced that a young child learns best by playing. We're studying nature, reading, talking, experimenting, and cooking. My husband says I'm surreptitiously teaching fine-motor skills. She thinks it's games and craft time. They're both right. This season, how can I help you? What would you'd like me to cover on my blog? Want me to speak to your group? Want to chat? Drop me a note.
Enjoy your children,
Kathy
