Good Afternoon <<First Name>>

Undoubtedly, one of Newmarket’s most up and coming trainers, is George Boughey. He’s slightly set the racing world alight with his impressive strike rate; he’s now trained over 100 winners in just 2 years with a licence and he has earned a reputation for being able to find colts and fillies which excel in their 2yo season, whilst retaining all their enthusiasm and ability through their 3yo careers.

We’ve enjoyed a 100% winners to individual runners, strike rate, already, with George, courtesy of our 27,000gns purchase PRETTY SWEET, getting off the mark on her second run for George and ourselves and who could just be destined to sneak some, all important, black type for us, at some juncture.

On the back of this success, we’ve decided to try to send George, what we like to call “a horse with elite potential”, meaning that by spending a little extra on a quality individual, with a strong pedigree, we can look to hopefully see them compete in high-quality races and allow their owners to experience some of biggest race-days throughout the season. This filly oozes class and to be frank, she was our favourite filly in the sale, that would be available, on a middle market budget (€75,000-€150,000). Her sire, Zoffany was the sire of our Group 1 winner and St Leger 2nd placed, VENTURA STORM.

She possesses a fantastic pedigree, already being a sister to a black type performer, and her walk and demeanour simply cannot be faulted. She floats across the ground. Her consignors, Oghill House Stud, were very, very sweet on her, labelling her as “a filly with the greatest temperament, we’ve ever had.” Now that’s some praise indeed, from people who have been in the game for decades. Where 2yo fillies are concerned, the importance of a good mindset, cannot be over stated.

Of course, she qualifies for the €1,000 000 'Sales Race' that’s, exclusively, for graduates of The Goffs Orby Sale. The 7f race, run at The Curragh, next September could easily be on the agenda for this filly. The winner brings home a cool €500,000 and the 10th horse earns €10,000 no less. It’s a fantastic initiative and if she is of the quality of some of George Boughey’s previous, 2yo Group winning fillies, then we could be in some serious business, come race time 2022.

She’s built like a horse who should be debuting around May or June 2022 and in our humble opinion, represents the best value, middle market, filly in the sale. We’re biased, of course. We can’t wait to see her racing in the light blue and orange epaulettes, next season and hopefully adding to George’s fantastic record with his 2yo fillies.
