It was a "semi-colorama" ride into the Hononegah Forest Preserve led by Pace Rider Carl who accompanied the 1st Wave of Riders and then dropped back into the 2nd Wave of Spinners while everyone beat it back before sunset.
With the days getting shorter from a light perspective it is time to start our rides a bit earlier. From now until the time changes on November 7th our rides will start at:
5 PM
From Lon Haldeman:
Some you may remember meeting Estephany from the Peru National Team who came to one of the Tuesday night rides last June. She was in town getting ready to join the PAC Tour Northern Transcontinental from Seattle to Boston.
Coming to the United States was a big adventure for her. She drove to Seattle and visited many National Parks along the way and went camping for the first time. During the cross country tour she joined 40 riders and cycled half the time and worked each day on the PAC Tour crew. She was also trained as a massage therapist and kept busy doing rider massaged each afternoon.
She needed to return to Peru in August to start her classes at the University in Lima and taking online classes at the University of Arizona. She is taking a full schedule with 21 credit hours. She is starting her Junior year and so far she is a straight “A” student majoring in Marketing. Several of the riders she met on the Northern Tour are helping her with her tuition because she comes from a family without a lot of extra money. We are rooting for her to graduate and possibly get a job in the United States.
She is thankful for the opportunity to see the United States and meet so many interesting people.
