SKY CAVE Perth Institute of Contemporary Art - PICA [22 OCT - 9 JAN]

SKY CAVE is a major presentation of new work by Fremantle-based artist Amy Perejuan-Capone. Her largest solo exhibition to date, SKY CAVE continues Perejuan-Capone’s exploration of the family archives documenting an ever-present pursuit of flight.

The exhibition showcases the breadth of Perejuan-Capone’s artistic practice, featuring ceramics, textiles, video and a dramatically-scaled installation of historic hang gliders. The result of an ongoing conversation and collaboration between the artist and her father, a hang-gliding pioneer, SKY CAVE deftly weaves together personal and social histories to explore the complexity of family narratives and the transference of skill, memory and points of connection across generations.
