1. While we are seeing more inquiries coming in than last year at this same time, it for many of us, the fight to bring our business back is not over. Put extra effort into the clients you do have and when they give you raving accolades, ask them for reviews and referrals.

2. I probably don’t need to lecture you on the importance of planning ahead, but now there is even more to consider prior to each shoot. Here are a couple of them:

There may be new restrictions at and between shoot locations, so do your research; and keep in mind, these mandates are still very much in a state of frequent fluctuation, so check back often.
Be respectful of your subjects. Different people have different concerns and beliefs when it comes to safety measures. Make sure you are providing ample distance for subjects, ensure only essential personnel are on set, and bring extra masks and hand sanitizer, just in case.

3. Here’s that one thing that holds so many back! In the beginning, most photographers spend the bulk of their time learning new tricks and techniques, pining over educational resources that will turn them into the creative they aspire to be, and working on their business chops.
