Dancer Registration and Insurance

One of the benefits of membership in the Canadian Square & Round Dance Society is third party liability coverage.  This insurance coverage protects our clubs and their officers, directors, and dancers against claims by a third party for bodily injury, death, or damage to property.

The nominal cost of this insurance is included in the registration fees charged to our clubs and dancers.  Since the COVID-19 pandemic has been with us, the Canadian Society has waived its registration fee and the cost of our insurance has been covered by the Society at no cost to dancers.  With national fees being waived, both the Ontario Square and Round Dance Federation and EOSARDA have also waived their fees for the 2021/2022 dance year, meaning that our clubs and dancers are not being asked for the registration fees usually collected at this time of year.

HOWEVER, to make sure that all of our dancers remain covered by the insurance policy our dancers and clubs must be registered.  To keep the process as simple as possible, EOSARDA will automatically renew the registration for all dancers who were registered for the 2019/2020 dance year (the last year that we collected fees) – those dancers need do nothing to keep their registration alive.

If a club resumes operation and if anyone who was not registered for the 2019/2020 dance year joins the activity, it is important that those new dancers register with EOSARDA.  There will be no fee associated with this registration but clubs must submit the names of any new dancers to ensure their names appear on the list of insured parties.

If your club has attracted any dancers who were not registered in 2019/2020, your club needs to advise the Registrar.  You can reach her at registrar@EOSARDA.ca.
