Ever wondered what Christmas was like in the court of Henry VIII? How did they cook? Did they give presents? What did they eat? Do we still have any of their traditions today?
We all have modern conveniences these days. So, what what would it have been like to prepare, cook and eat food at Christmas in Tudor times? Let's turn the clock and take a look back in time and find out! Lets also explore some myths about that period.

This is getting quite addictive! We love our Mahjong and we think you should try it too. Join us for a game of strategy and wit, and experience this old traditional game of Mahjong.

Mahjong is a strategy game that originated in China. It's similar to rummy, but it's played with tiles instead of cards. Generally, you play with 4 people. The goal is to form 4 sets or sequences and a pair, creating Mahjong!

Join Paula to make a floral hoop decoration.  You can make a flower, Beach, or Christmas-themed hoop. 
Limited to 10. The cost will be $10 for the hoop or bring your own.

What you will need to do between now and February is to collect and dry your foliage and flowers.

Interesting flowers and greenery for the flower theme. Shells, beach foraging for a beach theme. Christmas bits for a Christmas theme. Interesting bits in general if you have a vision.
Paula will provide all the wire/ tape/ties etc. that are needed to assemble them.
 

Coffee group for people who like a quieter setting. The quiet coffee group meets at Café Botannix at Palmer’s in the plant centre at the corner of Central Avenue and Water Street, at 10.30 am, EXCEPT for the last Thursday of the month, when they gather at 11.30 am and have lunch together. Palmers has a convenient place for free parking.
