Math All Around with Ms. Dorian Gonzalez Special Education Teacher
Here we are exploring Math in new and creative ways! We are working on Math All Around! Here, I was doing an interactive  skip and count activity with our Smart TV. The student was counting by 3's and was able to add a cup of ice cream in the cone when he identified which number came next. We reviewed vocabulary, shapes, and colors in Spanish. It’s wonderful to see all the ways Math can be presented.

If you signed up to have your child receive the flu shot in school please prepare them ahead of time to decrease their anxiety. We are also doing the COLORS COVID tests at the school every Thursday through the LDH. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone.

COLORS TESTING

Have questions regarding the compensation for COLORS Testing?

Please call 877-356-1511. Representatives stated that there was more demand than anticipated. Cards should be received by the end of the month with back pay for all swabs.

Message from the Social Worker
Please reach out to Ms. Catalian or myself if there are needs we may be able to assist with. I know that many families are still working to secure housing after the storm, and housing prices are soaring right now. We may not have all the answers, but can try our best to locate resources that may help. As Bill Withers' classic "Lean on Me" says, "no one can fill/ those of your needs/ that you don't let show."

FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS

We are asking all families to apply for the federally funded free and reduced school meals program. Even if you think you will not qualify, we ask that you apply. This information is critical to our school’s success and support. The percentage of students who qualify for free and reduced price meals is reported to the state Department of Education.

The free and reduced lunch percentages enable public schools to qualify for other grants and funding opportunities to support families.

As you know, meals are currently free for all students, but that will end. When it ends, we want all qualified students to receive free or reduced prices on our high-quality, healthy school meals.

Please take a few minutes to apply today! JUST 4 EASY STEPS!
