Fun Fall Events for Everyone
Fall has truly arrived. While we turn inward to cozy up for the colder months, here's a list of fun things happening around the city. Whether you're into bustling parades, outdoor markets or checking out a new exhibit, be sure to plug into one of these fun fall events.
BCAN's La Bodega: A Puerto Rican Culture Museum and Market  Happening on Thursday Oct 21st at Tola's Room 5:30-8:30pm. This will be an interactive event exploring Puerto Rican cultural and familial traditions with authentic food, music, exclusive vendors, and interactive exhibits. Tickets are limited, reserve yours here.
Black Arts District's Black Pride 2021
Black Arts District is hosting events all month in various locations, the next event being held in our space at Impact Hub is the Black Pride Stonewall International Poetry Slam happening on Thursday Oct 21st & Friday Oct 22nd from 7-11pm for $5. Register for Day 1 or Day 2
The 22nd Great Halloween Lantern Parade + Festival Highlandtown Arts District is collaborating with Creative Alliance and Friends of Patterson Park for this free outdoor event will be held at Patterson Park on Saturday Oct 23rd at 4pm. Parade line-up at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Pre-parade meetup by the Pulaski Monument for lanterns, snacks, music, and artist's market. Family and kid friendly with a costume contest. More info.
Station North Arts District and BOPA Annual Open Studios Tour Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts is hosting an artist studio open house at Motor House on Saturday Oct 23 - Sunday 24th. For the list of participating artist studios check out this link.
Opening of The Guardians at the Carroll Mansion In partnership with The Peale the Opening of The Guardians, a project that celebrates the work and accomplishments of Baltimore’s Black Female Leaders. 13 visionaries participated in the project, which will showcase their community work though portraits and large scale banners. The Opening Reception will take place on Saturday Nov 6 (3pm - 8pm) at the Carroll Mansion (800 E Lombard St)Mayor Brandon M. Scott will speak at the opening. Free, RSVP required here.
 
Building Inclusive Economies
We love having our co-founder, board member, and friend Rodney Foxworth back home in Baltimore. Check out this video where he shares his views on building an inclusive economy with the folks at Skoll Foundation and Freethink. As CEO of Common Future, Rodney supports the country’s most visionary organizations leading the way on building sustainable, equitable economies that work for all. This video highlights the importance of tackling wealth inequities and shifting capital to BIPOC-led organizations making meaningful community investments, all with Station North and Impact Hub as the backdrop.

Programs for Social Innovators & Creative Entrepreneurs
October is THE month to get yourself enrolled in a program to grow your great ideas into a bigger and brighter reality. Opportunities abound to find the right support for you and your work whether you're just starting out, looking to secure funding or building a game changing idea.
AccelerateBaltimore 2022 is an initiative of the ETC (Emerging Technology Centers), Baltimore’s award-winning incubator, and The Abell Foundation. This is a unique opportunity for 5 startups to access the market quickly through access to resources, advice, and $50K in seed funding. It's a 13-week program. Attend a virtual info session on Oct 27 at 10am and apply here by December 5th.
Baltimore Corps: Elevation Awards
The Elevation Awards provide planning grants of $10,000 and personalized support to people of color who are Baltimore City residents piloting novel approaches to strengthen Baltimore communities. Apply by Friday, October 22, 2021.
Prudential Emerging Visionaries 
Prudential Emerging Visionaries is a national recognition program that celebrates young people for their innovative solutions to financial and societal challenges facing their communities. They are accepting applications from young leaders ages 14-18 who are bringing powerful vision and real change to their communities. If selected, you may qualify for up to $15,000 in awards and an all-expenses paid trip with your parent or guardian to Prudential headquarters, as well as coaching and skills development to help take your solution to the next level. Application Deadline November 4th 2021
The Leadership Program
Are you ready to become a more effective civic leader for Baltimore? Our Flagship Leadership Program is an immersive 9-month program that enables participants to become more effective civic leaders individually and collectively within the Greater Baltimore region. We seek demonstrated leaders, who want to better understand Baltimore and its systemic challenges and history to have a greater impact on the city and region. Application deadline is November 2nd here.

Holiday Artisan Market 2021 with the Village Learning Place
Join the Village Learning Place for their annual Holiday Artisan Market. This year's market will be a hybrid event with both an in-person shopping market and a virtual shop. The traditional in-person market will take place Nov 10 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Village Learning Place, and the virtual shop will be open Nov 10-14. Apply here by October 31st, vendors will be notified by November 2nd.

5th All-Night Community Resource Clinic
On Saturday, October 23, 2021, The Job Opportunities Task Force (JOTF) and Out For Justice, Inc. (OFJ) will be hosting our 5th All-Night Community Resource Clinic in the Douglass Homes Community during the hours of 6pm-6am. Studies show that these hours are the peak times when illicit activities occur and we seek to disrupt that flow by offering supportive services to a marginalized part of the city. Redesigners in Action Webinar Series by Creative Reaction Lab
This webinar series will introduce and explore various focus topics interwoven with opportunities for participants to engage with one another for a deeper dive into the topic’s meaning in their own work. Intended for those who have yet to engage directly with Creative Reaction Lab, and those who are familiar, the series is a public-facing virtual learning opportunity that brings together people working towards equity, inclusion, and justice.

Baltimore Corps 2021 Elevation Awards Showcase
The Elevation Awards year is coming to a close and this year’s awardees are excited to show you what they’ve been working on! Over the past 10 months, the awardees have had the chance to meet with subject matter experts, learn from a specialized curriculum, and create a community to network with and thought partner with. This free virtual event will take place on Wednesday, October 27 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. ET. Director of Patient Capital Programming with Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA)
UMA is looking for an experienced Director working to support peer learning networks. The role requires an understanding of  the complexities needed to generate findings and discern impact from cohort-based learning models. The Directors works on the Pathways to Patient Capital program, which is a cohort of 14 community-based lending organizations who have been working for the past year to build more flexible, responsive capital products, specifically for makers and manufacturers of color.

Communications Coordinator with JHU Center for Social Concern (CSC)
CSC fosters a life-long commitment to active citizenship through education, action, and reflection while striving to support students on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University through engagement opportunities with the Baltimore community. They are seeking a Communications Coordinator that implements the office’s overall marketing strategy, creates and executes social media strategy across platforms, and contributes to all overall content creation as needed.  

Artist Navigator (Fellowship Role) with Baltimore Corps Baltimore Corps is seeking an Artist Navigator Fellow to lead a budding initiative that will support Baltimore City’s creatives. This position will be a member of the dynamic Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) team and the Artist Navigator will report to the Sr. Services Manager.
