2. Have the right inventory. What trends are popular this year? Stock your store with sought-after items that complement your current collection. Consider making gift cards available so no customers leave empty handed. Don't underestimate the power of good merchandising and "staff selections" marked around your shop.
3. Upsell when you can. Offer gift-wrapping or small accessories in addition to patrons' purchases. While you’ve got the customer in front of you, upselling can make a significant difference in your revenue. Train your staff on which suggestions pack the biggest punch.
4. Celebrate your holiday cheer on social media. Festive pictures are easy to “like”. Use your platforms to promote sales, instagram your staff in Santa hats, and share pictures of your inventory under a Christmas tree. Social media marketing is an incredibly powerful way to attract clientele, and making your pages fun can attract customers in real life.
5. Give your clients options to feel safe. Plenty of customers will browse online before popping into a store or skip in-person shopping all together. Put in some hours as soon as possible to update your site with new goods and holiday information. Check that things look nice on a mobile phone, too. Consider offer curbside pick-up or even special, less-crowded, early shopping for loyal customers.
