In September 2021 the Clean Energy Ministerial CCUS Initiative welcomed Australia as its newest member.
A long-time leader in the field of CCUS, the Australian Government has recently significantly accelerated its CCUS policy, with the objective of reducing the cost of CCUS and facilitating the establishment of CCUS hubs. It has recently announced an AUD50 million “CCUS Development Fund” with six recipient projects, and an AUD 250 million “CCUS Hubs and Technologies Programme”, to support large scale deployment of CCUS projects and hubs, including R&D and commercialisation efforts which is now open to applications.
In addition to government policy activity, Australia's National Science Agency CSIRO has recently published a roadmap that explores how Australia can scale up the utilisation of carbon dioxide. We will also hear industry perspectives from Chevron. Join our webinar to hear the latest!
