JESUS In ALL Things -
National Youth Gathering Fundraiser

Dear Members of Faith Lutheran,

As you know the High School Youth from here at Faith are beginning in earnest to prepare for the National Youth Gathering. The gathering will bring together Christian youth from across the country. Youth and adults will gather around God’s Word daily, hear inspiring speakers, and learn about unique ways that they might use their gifts and talents to share Jesus. Youth who are encouraged to grow in their faith through opportunities like this often fill vital roles of service in the church. Many find themselves entering full time church work, teaching ministry, or in volunteer and leadership roles. Your prayers, support, and encouragement are an investment in the faith and futures of our youth!

To support our youth of Faith with a monetary gift please visit our Houston Youth Gathering sponsorship board in the back of the church. This Sponsorship board will be in the Church Lobby for the next few weeks. Each envelope is marked with a donation amount: please take the envelope of your choice and return it to the church office or offering plate with your donation.

While we are thankful for your financial support, we are even more eager for your prayers! Please pray that God will strengthen us to grow in Christ and be witnesses for Him. Pray that Christ would help us to serve others in love as we grow as a group, invite friends to our own youth activities, and prepare to worship and serve with youth from many other congregations.

With Sincere Joy,
The Youth of Faith

Do you remember what happened on March 17, 2020?  Almost 18 months ago, the “shelter-in-place” order was given, and everything stopped. We hit the brakes, so to speak.  We stopped leaving our homes, many stopped going to work, schools stop meeting on campuses and attempted online education, restaurants closed, and only the essential businesses were expected and allowed to keep going as normal.  It feels like a long time ago and many still haven’t returned to “normal”, but rather a “new normal.”

In our board of elders meeting this past Monday night, we continued our discussion about returning to “normal” in worship and other matters at Faith. We talked again about bringing back ushering, acolyting, and collecting offerings IN THE SERVICE like we have done forever.  This past Sunday the common cup returned, the 8 am service has 4 usher teams.  We are exciting and looking forward and looking for more and new faces to build all our worship teams in both of our services for ushering, collecting the offerings, children’s messages, reading the Scriptures, supporting our altar guild, passing out bulletins, teaching in our Sunday School, supporting our youth and gathering in connection groups.

So here is the opportunity.  We’ve put together an “I want to serve” form, where you can use your gifts again, or for the very first time in our ministry at Faith Lutheran.  Some of the places will be “specific” and timely, others will be generic and whenever you are able.  I am hoping and praying that this ongoing effort will restart and make our ministry together stronger than ever.

Rather than attempt to list here all the different places where you can offer your gifts to God through our Faith Family, let me bring a few of the Sunday morning opportunities that we think are most urgent right now.  You can check them out at

Hope's Happenings

Hope is excited to announce that she has three new members! Elizabeth Cummings, Danielle Nichols, and Sandy Klingler are thrilled to begin the journey of Hope’s Ministry. Their membership serves as an answer to prayers. A prayer circle was started on September 24 – God answered that prayer.

Please continue to pray for this ministry. If you know of any one or any organization that would benefit from a visit from Hope, please send your information to hopecomfortdog@faithmarietta.org. or contact Peter Amelingmeier at armormaker@comcast.net.

Hope will begin a new service beginning Monday. She has been invited to support beginning readers at Chalker Elementary School. The young readers will spend time with Hope to practice their reading skills. It is a wonderful way to allow children to practice reading aloud and reduce the stress of peer criticism. The program can also be used as a positive reward for good behavior, a great support to classroom teachers!

Thanks for your continued prayers and support.

  • Please read the brochure, this will let you know the items OK to pack and the items that cannot be packed.
  • Remember to shop for a boy or girl and a specific age group then label the box with the provided labels.
  • Shipping is $9.00 for each box, if you would like donate for shipping the instructions are in the brochure.
  • Make it a family mission and enjoy the time shopping for a child that is waiting to feel the love of Christ.
