Reflecting on Psalm 103

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—

For years we have desired to open our own High School on our own premises. It appears that this will become a reality when the new school year begins in January. We have teachers lined up but still need a Principal, as well as a Principal for our Primary School. Please pray with us for two principals.

who forgives all your sins

This is our confidence. Our children and adults rest in the blessing of Jesus forgiveness and they love to praise Him.  Their relationship with Jesus is all that ultimately counts.  It is far more important than health, education, food, shelter or wealth.

and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and
crowns you with love and compassion.

Nobody from any Place of Rescue has been infected with Covid. All adults and children over 5 yrs have been vaccinated. In Cambodia 84% of the people are vaccinated. Daily new infections are only around 220.  The country is opening up little by little.

On August 2, Marie had a lobectomy in a hospital in Bangkok, to remove 1/3 of her right lung. The surgery was successful and she is gaining strength. She needs to undergo 4 sessions of chemo in Royal Hospital, Phnom Penh,  just to be sure there are no cancer cells still lurking around unnoticed.

who satisfies your desires with good things. so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

We continue to be amazed at the generous donations we continually receive from groups of Cambodians. How grateful we are for all His benefits during the past months. Thousands of dollars worth of supplies have come to us unsolicited. At Sunday morning worship services, offerings are taken and shared with the poor….. and the Lord keeps rewarding us.

The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed

At Place of Rescue 2 in Mongkol Borey, we have received 18 new children in recent months. At Place of Rescue 1, we recently received another adult woman coping with AIDS. She is getting good care and nourishment now. She has a 12 year old daughter but this child is with another organization and prefers to stay where she is for now. We also received a family consisting of a Gramma and a Mother who have AIDS and two little children.

Praise the Lord, my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules over all.

Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.
