The Changing Church Webinar Series
Pandemic 2.0 – Using the Best Science to Keep Our Churches Safe
Lisa Allgood has been the "go to" person to whom presbytery leaders in the PCUSA turn to for the latest scientific information about the the spread of Covid and the best policies for churches to use based on that ever evolving science. She has been called "the Presbyterian Fauci," and her occasional newsletters have provided a sound scientific basis for churches' decisions about when/how/if to reopen as well as the precautions people need to take to keep their congregations safe.

Lisa Allgood is the Executive Presbyter for the Presbytery of Cincinnati. Prior to taking on this leadership role, she spent 36 years as an executive in the pharmaceutical industry. She is a trained immunocytochemist and a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. A ruling elder in the PCUSA, Lisa has served in many capacities on Sessions and for the Presbytery. She sends regular “love notes” detailing the latest Covid science and CDC recommendations about the pandemic to other presbytery leaders. Her guidance has become the gold standard among PCUSA colleagues for thinking about reopening churches (or not). Lisa serves on several justice councils in Cincinnati, is a member of the board of Women Helping Women, and also sits on the board of Sinapis, a Christian non-profit based in Kenya. She has two daughters, one completing her doctorate in clinical psychology at Xavier University and the other teaching high school chemistry and environmental science in North Carolina.
