Transplant Athletes Wanted

Team Buffalo is seeking transplant recipients, living organ donors and donor families to join in preparations for the Transplant Games of America. 
The 2022 games will take place in San Diego from Friday, July 29 through Wednesday, August 3. Competitions include a 5K run/walk, badminton, ballroom dancing, basketball, bowling, cornhole, cycling, darts, golf, lyrics for life, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, Texas Hold ‘Em poker, track and field, trivia, a virtual triathlon, volleyball and a Youth Olympiad.

Kidney Foundation 

Bob Poczik shared inspiring stories of courage, resilience and hope during a book talk at StoneGate of Clarence. The Oct. 4 event raised money for the Kidney Foundation of WNY.
Thanks to Bob for his great presentation, StoneGate for hosting, Linda Snyder for organizing the talk, volunteer helpers and all the attendees who donated in support of the Kidney Foundation.

#KidneyTransplantThursdays Begin on October 14th

The Living Kidney Donors Network is launching Kidney Transplant Thursdays, encouraging people to spread the word about living kidney donation. 
On the second Thursday of every month, Kidney Transplant Thursdays encourages those in the kidney transplant community, organizations and individuals to use their social media outlets and traditional public relations to educate the public about living kidney donation.

Cycling Along the "Organ Trail" 

Kidney donor Mark Scotch is riding the "Organ Trail" from Martha's Vineyard to Wisconsin, raising awareness of kidney disease and organ donation. The Kidney Foundation of WNY joined ECMC in welcoming Mark to Buffalo on Sept. 30.

More than 90,000 Americans are currently in need of a kidney transplant. Mark's journey shows that living donors can save a life and remain healthy and active. He is also supporting the mission of the National Kidney Donation Organization

A kidney for Bill Bucolo fell through this June when the donor couldn't pass the final test. Now Bucolo is rallying his spirits, volunteering at Artpark and Pirate's Fest, as well as other interests, and even starting school again to work in human services.
