I'm not going to tell you something that you don't already know. For hundreds of years, Black media has been centering on "us." And a new report shows that Black media outperform mainstream media six-fold when it comes to topics and issues concerning our communities. Elinor Tatum, Word In Black publisher for the New York Amsterdam News, renews her call for why Black media matter.

If you get a chance, take a moment to watch our event discussion on agency and power in education, a reminder to get checked up annually as data reveal that Black women are dying from breast cancer at higher rates, and how the NAACP is winning the information war on COVID-19.

Word In Black creates, promotes and publishes news that is relevant to African American and Black communities throughout the nation, so that they can make informed decisions about their lives.
