ACADEMIC SUCCESS EVENTS ⇨ Save Your Semester Workshop Thursday October 28, 3-4 pm
Need help navigating various options and resources to address mid-semester challenges and deficient grades? This workshop will focus on college policies such as grade option changes (P/NP), late change of class schedule petitions, incomplete grades, and withdrawal. Facilitated by L&S Advisers.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL & GRADUATE PROGRAM EVENTS ⇨ Pre-Masters/PhD Planning Session Thursday November 18, 3:30-5 pm
Learn valuable strategies to prepare a successful candidacy for Masters or PhD programs, including course choice considerations, working with professors, and exploring graduate program options. Co-facilitated by L&S Advising and the Career Center.

Reminder: Grade Option Policy & Late Change of Class Schedule
GRADE OPTION CHANGES: Friday October 29 is the deadline to change grade options for fall classes for students in good academic standing. Keep in mind that not all classes allow grade option changes, and that changing grade options can impact other university requirements that still need to be met. For example:
At the time of graduation, students may not exceed the maximum number of allowable P/NP units (a maximum of 1/3 of the total number of units taken at Berkeley may be taken P/NP)
Major requirements must be taken for a letter grade, and students must have a 2.0 GPA in the major at graduation (consult directly with your major advisor for additional specifics)
Students on academic probation may not change a course with a letter-graded option to P/NP
Students must complete the Reading & Composition requirement with a letter grade of C- or higher by the end of their 4th semester at Berkeley
The L&S requirements of Entry Level Writing, Reading & Composition, Quantitative Reasoning and Foreign Language must be taken for a letter grade
Taking all fall courses on a P/NP basis will result in Academic Probation
FALL 2021 POLICY CHANGE REMINDER: On August 25, an L&S Policy Update was sent to students' inboxes announcing that policies for Late Schedule Changes and Grade Options have been updated for the Fall 2021 semester. Be sure to review the announcement again carefully, or check out the full policy updates on our Fall 2021 Policy Reminders webpage.
Upcoming Fall 2021 Deadlines Deadlines are set at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
Friday, Oct 29 - Deadline to change Grading Options on courses. Monday, Nov 1 - Deadline to submit a Readmission petition for the Spring term. Friday, Dec 3 - Deadline to submit a Late Schedule Change request. Friday, Dec 10 - Deadline to Withdraw from the Fall term.
