Colleges 9 + 10 Student Project Funds
Are you affiliated with Colleges Nine or Ten and need funding for a student project?

Submit a proposal by TODAY, October 20th to receive funds for a program that supports our community!

Earn 5 Units and Teach "Global Action!"
Interested in teaching a class that connects to the themes of Colleges Nine and Ten? Apply to teach CLNI 85 - "Global Action," a 2-unit course offered in Winter Quarter!

Students who complete the application and are selected will be able to enroll in CLNI 191 and earn 5 units to teach CLNI 85.

Applications are due via email by TODAY, October 20th at 4pm.

Want to get paid to be on social media and create cool graphics?

We’re looking for a talented, passionate person to join the Colleges Nine and Ten Social Media Team. Applicants should have experience creating content on major social media platforms and be familiar with graphic design programs.
While this position is open until filled, our committee will begin reviewing applications on Monday, November 1st at 5pm.

Become a Transition Mentor!
First Generation Initiatives is hiring three Transition Mentors for this academic year.

Mentors will support incoming frosh and transfer students through Zoom drop-in hours and quarterly programming.

Volunteer for All Hallows' Eve!
All Hallows' Eve is a collaboration between Calabasas Elementary School and Colleges Nine and Ten to provide the elementary students with goody bags as a way to celebrate Halloween.

UCSC students can volunteer to work All Hallows' Eve on Friday, October 29th with shifts from 3-9pm, with transportation available for volunteers.

A Special Event with Michelle Obama!

UC Santa Cruz has been invited to participate in an exclusive conversation with Michelle Obama on Tuesday, November 9th at 10am.

While one UCSC student will have the opportunity to attend the event in Washington, D.C., our campus community will have remote access to the free event and an opportunity to receive a free copy of Becoming.

Creepy Crawly Costume Contest

Did you miss Halloween last year? Want to show off your costume this year?
Enter the Creepy Crawly Costume Contest, where students can submit photos of their costumes to win prizes or even be featured on the Colleges Nine and Ten Instagram Page!

Día de Los Muertos

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos with these upcoming events!
On Monday, October 25th from 4-5:30pm, there will be a Letters to Loved Ones booth where students can write a letter to someone they have lost.

On Thursday, October 28th from 4-7pm at the Cowell Coffee Shop, is Calaveras y Comunidad — a night of community building, arts and crafts activities, and storytelling.
On Tuesday, November 2nd from 7-9pm, there will be an event at the Quarry Amphitheater to grieve and celebrate the life of past loved ones and moments.

#SOULSPEAK Workshop with Gina Loring

Join us this Wednesday, October 27th from 12-1pm for a poetry writing workshop facilitated by Gina Loring! This workshop is open to current UCSC students and attendees will have the chance to win one of three $25 gift cards.

Slugs 4 Self-Care
from Colleges Nine & Ten CoCurricular Programs Office
Want to learn self-care practices and develop your relationship with yourself? Join us for this weekly series on Wednesdays from 6-7pm

These workshops will be held both in-person at the Rec Lounge (located under the MPR, between the Colleges Nine and Ten Dining Hall and Terry Freitas Cafe) and via Zoom (register at bit.ly/slugs4sc).
Please Note: Today's session (10/20) will only be held on Zoom, with the option for both settings returning next week (10/27).
SHOP is Open!

Student Health Outreach and Promotion (SHOP) is up and running with HIV testing, Birth Control Patrol, Condom Co-op, Twice Weekly Party Safe Pop-Ups, and Thursday Westside SHOP Pop-Ups at Rachel Carson College.

The SHOP team is offering services both in-person and online.
